    Up for auction is
    1917 Percheron Stallion Advertising 22" x 14" Card Stock Poster Wapato WA State. My Great-grandfather is the Dan McDonald listed at the bottom of the poster. He had progeny sired by this Percheron Stallion that potential customers could come and take a look at. The poster was printed at the Prompt Printery, North Yakima. The profile of this muscular Percheron almost has a bit of a look of a prehistoric horse. Both the American and French stallion #'s are listed in red ink. Also written in red ink: "(Breeding) Season Ending Nov 1 1917. Interesting that Ladon the stallion, during the breeding season, would be at three different locations during the week: "Ladon will make the season at the Wapato Stables, except on Monday forenoon of each wee, when he will stand at Scott Bros. Ranch, 2 1/4 miles west of Wapato, and Thursday forenoons at Dan McDonald's at Donald." Poster weighs .19 lb.
