    "Beginning in 1988, John Deere began a tradition to offer John Deere Day belt buckles.  It features a farm site at the top of the buckle.   The words "John Deere Day" appear on the bottom half.  Some buckles were made with black lettering & some were made with gold lettering.  The gold lettering buckle is the harder of the two to find.  Some dealers chose to order these buckle to give out at their John Deere Day "Open House."  Others chose to stock the buckle for their customers to purchase."
