    Description

This is a nice vintage apothecary tin for cow udders & farm use.  This is old from the collection of a retired pharmacist
Bag Balm was developed in 1899 to soothe irritation on cows’ udders after milking. It is now used as a treatment to chapped or irritated skin on humans. The original bag balm was made in Vermont by a family owned business called Dairy Association Co. In. This is a tin from the original ownership. The family eventually sold the business to a group of investors who changed the name to the Vermont Original, LLC.  This is a neat piece of farming history with the directions for use on a cow’s udders explained on the side panel of the tin.
